Basically it only changes the default action that zmailer takes for
mail deliverd to listname-{owner,approval,request}.  You can override
that action in the aliases file.  I think it sort of depends on how
you do things the majority of the time.  If the majority of your lists
are handled by majordomo, then the patches will make things more
automatic, most of the time.  You can override how listname-request
is handled by making an alias for it.  listname-owner didn't change,
and listname-approval is a majordomoism so shouldn't affect things.
