Re: smtp ta problem? (was: Re: hotmail problem... again :-( )



Well, it _is_ another kind of problem... you are just seeing the 
increasing inability of hotmail to handle the load they have... it might 
even be that there is very little bandwith available between your server 
and the chosen hotmail mx... everytime I check the logs I see hundreds of 
connections rejected (probably failed or rebooting servers) and 
connections that are hung up on me in the middle of a transaction.

My problem is that my zmailer is bouncing messages that temporarily fail 
because of these hungups, instead of retrying them.
