  Depends on the version.
Earlier versions wanted to route all localparts with a dot in them
thru separate analysis branch from "normal" one, and on that path
there was a way to get around this problem by placing dotfull
usernames into the "fullname" database, like this:
	dot.name  dot.name

With new scripts (late 2.99.50 snapshots; since -s6, from ChangeLog)
the system allows  dot.name  usernames as any dotless name.
