smtpserver hangs

HEllo,

I run zmailer 2.97 on Solaris 2.4 and smtpserver sometimes hangs and I
cannot connect then to my machine
Do you know what's that ? 

telnet ccnews mail shows sometimes Trying...
sometimes it shows 'connected...' but smtpserver won't show 
220 ccnews ... ready

Can anybody help ? Thanks.

btw I tried to upgrade to 2.99.27 but it didn't work...
so patch would be better then upgrade recommendation.
