On the contrary, the log IS informative!

Yes, way back when I did the 2.99.10, I didn't handle signals
properly on Linux (the new way of doing them). The problem is
since long gone -- and my ZMailer releases are now on number 2.99.15
ftp://ftp.funet.fi/pub/unix/mail/zmailer/
A copy of this material is also on:
ftp://ftp.cse.psu.edu/pub/src/zmailer/current/
ftp://ftp.cs.toronto.edu/pub/zmailer/
(How automatic?)
(Be warned that the 34Mbps PTAT-1 sea-cable connection in between
Pensauken, NJ, and NORDUnet is down AGAIN, and we are on a "slow"
2*2M link... Hmm... 400 ms to MAE-E -- Earth-GeoStat-Earth is
circa 260 ms light-speed, which means round-trip of 500+ms.
That's odd, I didn't see any report that Cableship Soverign had
fixed it yet ??? Perhaps it is now on some other cable.)
