zmailer 2.2 problem

I am running zmailer on a Sun machine. This machine is also a secondary dns
server. The version of the named is 4.8.3.

zmailers stop delivering messages to any domain which does not have a MX
record. What happen is zmailer thinks those no MX domains are down. It will
hold the message until it expires.

Is there anyway I can test zmailer to find out why it thinks those no MX
domains are down?

ps: I am not the one who complied zmailer and am not the person who do the
named.
