Yes, with netcat. (Relieved breath)

But can you explain me what was the problem, so that I can
improve my knowledge of SMTP (and be able to do manual tests
that are really useful)? I use netcat all the time with other
MTAs to check if an address was correctly defined.

Of course it's been a while since I read the RFC, so it isn't
impossible that I just forgot the correct form (meaning I'm
polluting this list for no good reason).
