malformed i-node-names at "TRANSPORT" directory ...

Eugene reported of files of style:
	node.domain.name:12345
in the POSTOFFICE/transport/

Well, I found such ones in here too:

$ less /var/spool/postoffice/transport/nic.funet.fi\:*
rcvdfrom STDIN ("??"@nic.funet.fi)
T adsl-63-193-247-253.dsl.snfc21.pacbell.net

This is ETRN message spooled into the queue for processing..
The filename *is* wrong, of course..
(And the culprit is libc/mail.c contained mail_close_alternate() )
