Clarification

Several questions were asked re my last posting:

First, what is testcenter and have I tried Purify.

Answer: testcenter and Purify are basicaly the same think,
Centerline makes one of the best C/C++ development enviroments
that I've seen for the SUN and most other major UNIX platforms,

It supports runtime check of memory leaks and pointer deallocation
with Codecenter (c) or Objectcenter (C++) and testcenter extends
these facilities to dyanamic memory checking of you final exacutables.

It also support developing driver routines to test your code.  If your
into Motif, it also has an nice widget set for development.

Second, yes I did try Ken's fix but no luck

Third, It is not currently configured for NIS, but I was debating
doing so to see if it would help, but I really think the level of
logging it does is the primary problem,
